KOMMENTAR:

Tim Collins: “We were all worried, and we were overcontrolling, because we had to make this work. We had all these crazy meetings with our sobriety consultants and security people, and we decided we had to keep the two bands apart. We devised this ‘containment plan,’ which divided the backstage area between the bands. We let Guns have their drugs and booze in their area, which we had guarded so stuff couldn’t leak out. We timed it so Aerosmith arrived at the venue while Guns was onstage. We told Guns they had to leave as soon as their set was over. The backstage areas were divided by walls of tarps, and our security people [headed by a moonlighting Arizona state trooper] insured there would be no interaction between the bands. We only did this for the first couple of weeks, until we could see what kind of shape Guns was in.”
